2024 Australia 1 oz Silver Kookaburra MS-70 PCGS (FS, Kook Label)

1.0000 troy oz .9999 2024 MS-70 (PCGS)

The Australian Silver Kookaburra series has captivated observers since its introduction in 1990. Issued as sovereign currency backed by the Australian government, each annual release features a completely original illustration of the country's famous bush bird on the reverse. This particular coin contains one troy ounce of incredibly pure 0.9999 fine silver and has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 condition. The 2024 reverse design captures a dramatic moment in the Australian wilderness, depicting a kookaburra soaring over a deep gorge while clutching a snake in its talons. Alongside this detailed scene, the reverse features the inscription 'KOOKABURRA', the year, the weight, and the silver purity. Collectors will also spot a special 'P125' mint mark, which signifies the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint, the historic institution that produces the coin. For added authenticity, a micro-laser engraved security feature is integrated directly into the reverse design. On the obverse, the coin bears the official effigy of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne. The surrounding inscriptions include 'CHARLES III', 'AUSTRALIA', and the face value of '1 DOLLAR'. Originally, the maximum mintage for these one-ounce bullion coins was capped at 300,000, but that limit was increased to 500,000 starting in 2011 to accommodate the global interest in this iconic silver series.
