The 2024 Lunar Year of the Dragon silver coin represents the third release in this celebrated Canadian series. Struck in one ounce of exceptionally pure 0.9999 fine silver, this proof-finish coin showcases a captivating blend of cultural artistry and royal heritage. Backed by the Canadian government, it carries a face value of 15 dollars and is limited to a mintage of 28,888 pieces. On the reverse, Canadian artist Jai Paek brings the Wood Dragon to life. The mythical creature is rendered with striking precision, featuring seven distinct, heart-shaped scales that add a unique layer of detail to the design. The reverse also displays the word CANADA, the year 2024, and the 15 DOLLARS denomination. The obverse is dedicated to the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, featuring her effigy designed by Susanna Blunt set against a repeating scallop pattern. A special four-pearl marking on this side honors the four different portraits of the Queen that have appeared on Canadian coinage throughout her historic reign, accompanied by the double date of her rule, 1952 to 2022.
