The Mexican Libertad series, which commenced in 1982, introduced a larger two-ounce format in 1996. This 2024 edition contains two troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver and has been certified in perfect Mint State 70 condition. Struck by the historic Mexican Mint, La Casa de Moneda de Mexico, the weight and purity of this issue are fully backed by the Banco de México. On the obverse, the central design features the modern Mexican national shield, surrounded by the inscription ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. Encircling this central emblem is a historical sequence of previous Mexican coats of arms, showcasing the evolution of the nation's symbols over time. The reverse displays the winged statue of Victory standing prominently in the foreground. Behind her, the famous Mexican volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl rise into the distance. Legible inscriptions on this side include PLATA PURA, 2 ONZA, 2024, and LEY 0.999, alongside the Mo mint mark of the Mexico City Mint.
