The 2024 edition of Mexico's two-ounce Silver Libertad proof coin represents a beautiful intersection of modern minting excellence and deep historical roots. Struck at the Casa de Moneda de México, a minting institution tracing its origins back to 1535, this coin is backed by the Banco de México. It contains two ounces of 0.999 pure silver, finished with the highly reflective surfaces characteristic of a proof strike. This particular specimen has achieved a perfect certified grade of Proof 70. On the reverse, the design showcases the Winged Victory statue, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Mexican volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. The inscriptions on this side denote the weight, year, and purity, reading "2 ONZA", "PLATA PURA", "2024", and "LEY 0.999", alongside the "Mo" mint mark of the Mexico City Mint. The obverse is dedicated to the national heritage of Mexico, centering on the modern national shield with the inscription "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS".
