The 2024 silver dollar marks a modern continuation of a classic American series. Originally introduced to mark the conclusion of the First World War, the design returned to production decades after its initial run from 1921 to 1935. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this particular issue features a proof finish and carries the "S" mint mark, representing a limited production run of 300,000 pieces. Each coin is composed of 0.858 troy ounces of 99.9 percent pure silver. The front of the coin displays a profile of Liberty wearing a crown of pointed rays. Created by Anthony de Francisci, this side of the coin includes his initials, "AF", positioned near the bottom, along with the date 2024 and the phrase "IN GOD WE TRUST" spelled with a classic "V" in place of a "U". On the reverse, an American eagle is depicted perched upon a stone outcropping, grasping an olive branch. The word "PEACE" is inscribed at the base, underscoring the foundational theme of the entire series.
