The Spanish Royal Mint continues its celebrated bullion tradition with the fourth release in its Spanish Doubloon Series. Struck in 2024, this coin contains one troy ounce of highly refined 0.9999 fine gold. It features a striking reverse proof finish, which contrasts frosted fields against polished design elements to highlight the intricate artistry of the minting process. The obverse of the coin displays the historic Pillars of Hercules, a classic symbol representing the connection between the Old and New Worlds. Two crowned globes rest between the pillars, accompanied by the traditional motto "PLVS VLTRA". For security, the mint has incorporated a specialized quadruple latent image feature, which displays different images depending on the angle of light. On the reverse, a majestic imperial eagle dominates the design. The Spanish words "ÁGUILA IMPERIAL" are inscribed to the left of the bird, while the face value of "1,5 EURO" is positioned above. The composition also displays the 2024 year of issue and the crowned "M" mint mark representing the historic mint in Madrid. This modern treasure is limited to a maximum mintage of 15,000 pieces.
