2024 St. Helena 1 oz Silver Goddesses: Cybele and the Lions BU
The 2024 St. Helena Goddesses series continues its exploration of ancient mythology with its third release, celebrating the powerful figure of Cybele. Known historically as the Mother of the Gods or Magna Mater, Cybele is an ancient deity of Earth and Nature whose mythological origins lie in Phrygia. Struck in Germany at the Mayer Mint GmBH, this brilliant uncirculated coin contains one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver and is limited to a mintage of 10,000 pieces. Designed by Joel Iskowitz, the reverse of the coin captures the dramatic imagery of Cybele riding in her grand chariot, which is pulled by a pair of powerful lions. The obverse displays the official effigy of King Charles III, alongside the year of issue, 2024, and the face value of 1 Pound. The crisp inscriptions on the coin include the name CYBELE, ST. HELENA, CHARLES III, and the denomination, completing a design that beautifully bridges ancient lore and modern minting.
