2025 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle (MintDirect® Single)
The 2025 quarter-ounce American Gold Eagle represents a continuation of a premier United States coinage tradition that began in 1986. Authorized under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, this ten-dollar denomination coin is backed by the United States government for its weight and purity. It is struck from a durable alloy containing 91.67 percent fine gold, balanced with copper and silver, resulting in a total weight of approximately 8.483 grams. On the obverse, the legendary figure of Lady Liberty walks forward holding a lit torch and an olive branch, a design originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The word LIBERTY and the year 2025 are clearly visible on this side. The reverse features a highly detailed, close-up portrait of an American bald eagle, a modern redesign introduced by Jennie Norris in 2021 that brings a fresh, intimate perspective to the national symbol.
