This striking silver coin represents the state of Iowa as part of the Native America the Beautiful series. Struck in a proof finish from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the piece carries a limited mintage of just 1,000 coins. It is authorized by the Mesa Grande Sovereign Nation, celebrating the rich cultural landscape of North America. The reverse of the coin portrays a sacred burial ceremony taking place on top of an effigy mound. These earthworks were constructed during the Late Woodland Period, a span stretching from 350 to 1300 CE. The Sac and Fox Nation, an Algonquian-speaking people also recognized as the Meskwaki Nation, utilized these sacred sites. On the obverse, a detailed bald eagle emblem is framed by a traditional native star pattern. The surrounding inscriptions denote the issuing authority of the Mesa Grande Sovereign Nation, alongside the weight of one ounce and the 0.999 silver purity.
