2025 1 oz Gold Buffalo MS-70 NGC (Early Releases, Buffalo Label)
The 2025 Gold Buffalo represents a continuation of the United States Mint's premier twenty-four karat gold coin program, which first debuted in 2006. Struck with a purity of 0.9999 fine gold, this fifty-dollar denomination coin has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 (MS-70) condition, signifying its flawless strike and preservation. On the obverse, a powerful profile of a Native American chief looks toward the right. This portrait is actually a composite of three different individuals: Chief Big Tree, Chief Iron Tail, and Chief Two Moons. The design, originally created by James Earle Fraser for the 1913 Buffalo Nickel, is accompanied by the inscription of the word LIBERTY and the year 2025. The reverse of the coin showcases a massive American buffalo, modeled after a famous bison named Black Diamond. This side of the coin features several traditional inscriptions, including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and IN GOD WE TRUST. The bottom of the coin clearly displays its weight and purity specifications as 1 OZ. 0.9999 FINE GOLD, alongside the $50 face value.
