This design, alongside the inscription LIBERTY and the date 2025, draws inspiration from the historic 1913 Buffalo Nickel created by James Earle Fraser. Fraser combined the features of three different Native American models to produce this iconic representation of early America. The reverse depicts a massive American bison standing on a grassy mound, modeled after a famous resident of the Central Park Zoo named Black Diamond. Legible inscriptions on this side include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the weight and purity notation of 1 OZ. 0.9999 FINE GOLD and the 50 Dollar denomination.
