The Australian Gold Kangaroo series has a rich design history that began in 1986 under a different theme, the Gold Nugget. By 1989, the focus shifted to the iconic marsupial that symbolizes the nation's unique wildlife. Because the reverse illustration changes every single year, each release offers a brand new artistic perspective on this beloved animal. For the 2025 edition, the reverse artwork portrays a pair of kangaroos navigating a dry, desert landscape. This side of the coin also displays the name of the series, the 2025 year-date, and the traditional P mint mark representing the Perth Mint, which guarantees the weight and purity of the piece. The coin is struck from 1/10 ounce of highly pure 0.9999 fine gold. The obverse side carries the contemporary effigy of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne. Surrounding the portrait are the inscriptions indicating the monarch's name, the issuing nation of Australia, and the official legal tender face value of 15 Dollars.
