In 2025, the Italian State Mint introduced a landmark release, marking the very first time Italy has issued a one-ounce silver bullion coin. This debut issue launches the Flora and Fauna Series, a collection celebrating natural beauty. Struck in 38.61 millimeters of 0.999 fine silver, this particular specimen has been certified in outstanding Mint State 69 condition, representing a nearly flawless strike from a limited production run of 16,000 pieces. The obverse of the coin is dedicated to the wild daisy, known botanically as Leucanthemum, a flower that carries deep cultural meaning in Italy as a symbol of purity and light. The design features these delicate blossoms alongside the inscriptions REPUBBLICA ITALIANA, the year 2025, and the R mint mark representing the historic mint in Rome. The signature of the artist, A.MASINI, is also integrated into the obverse design. On the reverse, a female face emerges with flowing hair decorated with blossoms, evoking the spirit of nature. This side bears the inscription FLORA alongside the metal weight and purity, 1 oz Ag 999. The design is framed by an olive branch on one side and an oak branch on the other, flanking the unusual face value of 0,25 EURO. The reverse composition is signed by its creator, M.CIUCCI.
