This silver coin marks the sixth entry in a series celebrating historic Dutch city gates and access roads. Struck in 0.7929 ounces of 0.999 fine silver, this proof-quality piece highlights the Gevangenpoort, a historic gate located in Vlissingen. This structure was initially constructed around 1491 as part of the Westpoort, later transitioning into a prison facility in 1606. The obverse features Duke Karel van Egmond standing before the Gevangenpoort, holding a shield that displays the provincial coat of arms for Zeeland. This side bears the abbreviated Latin inscription MO.NO.ARG.REG.BELGII.ZEL. On the reverse, the official national coat of arms of the Netherlands is shown positioned under the Royal Crown, with the 2025 release year split on either side. The traditional Latin motto CONCORDIA RES PARVAE CRESCUNT is inscribed alongside the official mint and privy marks, all guaranteed by the Royal Dutch Mint.
