2025 Niue 1 oz Silver $2 Chronos (Antiqued)
This intriguing silver release represents the tenth installment in the Chronos series, a collection dedicated to exploring the concept of passing time and the ancient philosophy that everything flows. Minted by the Pressburg Mint in Slovakia, this particular edition embraces the fluid theme of water. It is struck from one ounce of 0.9999 fine silver with an antiqued finish, and is limited to a mintage of only 1,000 pieces. The obverse design merges mythology with horology, depicting a pair of mermaids set against a stylized aquatic backdrop, all framed by a clock. The clock dial points to five minutes before midnight. At the twelve o'clock position, the chemical symbol for silver, AG, is visible alongside the denomination. To mark a decade of this series, the dual dates of 2015 and 2025 are displayed. On the reverse, intricate clockwork and mechanical components share space with an infinity symbol. The reverse also displays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the issuing country name of Niue, the year 2025, the two-dollar face value, and the weight and purity of the metal. Interestingly, the reverse design also incorporates the name Tokelau.
