2025-(P) Silver Eagle, Eagle Privy MS-70 NGC (1st 50,000)
The 2025 American Silver Eagle minted in Philadelphia represents a compelling milestone for collectors of modern United States coinage. Struck from one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver, this issue is limited to a mintage of 500,000 pieces. What sets this particular release apart is the inclusion of a special eagle privy mark on the front of the coin, marking only the second time that a United States Mint bullion issue has featured such a mark. Although the coin does not carry a traditional mint mark, its Philadelphia origin is designated by a star privy mark. The obverse displays the iconic figure of Lady Liberty walking toward the rising sun, a classic design originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. Positioned on this side is the groundbreaking eagle privy mark. On the reverse, a detailed bald eagle is depicted in flight carrying an oak branch, a modern design crafted by Emily Damstra. The inscriptions on the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 1 OZ. FINE SILVER. This specific coin has been certified at the highest possible grade of Mint State 70 (MS-70). It represents one of the first 50,000 coins of its kind to be evaluated, offering a flawless presentation of a historic design variation.
