2025 Proof Silver €10 Austerlitz w/ Box & COA
This striking 2025 silver coin from the Monnaie de Paris commemorates the Battle of Austerlitz, a historic conflict that took place on December 2, 1805. Minted in 0.7137 troy ounces of 0.999 fine silver, this piece captures a pivotal moment when Napoleon Bonaparte secured a decisive victory over the combined military forces of Russia and Austria. The obverse side of the coin features a detailed composition showing the profile portraits of Alexander I and Francis I and II. They face an image of Napoleon riding his horse at daybreak across the battlefield of Austerlitz, while his marching legions fill the foreground of the design. For the reverse, designers drew inspiration from an original medal created in 1806 to celebrate the triumph. It displays a winged scepter, which is crowned by a tiny statue of Charlemagne and flanked by dramatic lightning bolts. With a limited mintage of just 5,000 pieces, this modern French coin serves as a beautiful, high-relief tribute to European history.
