2025-(W) 1 oz American Gold Eagle MS-70 PCGS (FirstStrike®)
The 2025 fifty dollar gold piece represents a modern continuation of a classic American tradition that first began in 1986. Struck under the authority of the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, this coin contains exactly one troy ounce of pure gold within its overall 0.9167 fine gold composition. This specific specimen has achieved the highest possible grade of Mint State 70, indicating a coin of absolute visual perfection. On the obverse, the legendary figure of Lady Liberty strides forward holding a lit torch and an olive branch. This celebrated design, originally conceived by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, remains one of the most famous images in United States numismatics. The year 2025 is clearly inscribed alongside this timeless allegorical figure. The reverse presents a highly detailed, close-up portrait of a bald eagle, designed by Jennie Norris. The powerful gaze of the national bird is accompanied by the traditional inscriptions, including the national mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM". The reverse also displays the denomination of 50 DOLLARS and the weight of 1 oz. of fine gold. Although minted at the West Point Mint, the coin does not display a mint mark, maintaining a clean and focused design.
