The 2026 American Gold Eagle represents a beautiful continuation of a classic United States Mint series that first began in 1986. Struck from one half troy ounce of 22 karat gold, which equates to a purity of 0.9167, this twenty-five dollar legal tender coin has achieved a perfect grading of Mint State 70. This flawless designation is accompanied by a special classification indicating its status as an early release from the mint. On the obverse, the coin displays the iconic figure of Lady Liberty holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This legendary image was inspired by the famous 1907 Gold Double Eagle design created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The word LIBERTY and the year 2026 are clearly visible on this side, celebrating a century-old artistic heritage. The reverse side of the coin showcases a detailed, close-up portrait of an American bald eagle. This modern design, crafted by artist Jennie Norris, was first introduced to the series in 2021.
