This modern specimen contains exactly one troy ounce of gold, struck with a purity of 0.9167 fine, and carries a legal-tender face value of 50 dollars. This particular coin has been graded in exceptional Mint State 69 condition, indicating its near-flawless preservation. On the obverse, the design features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' portrayal of Lady Liberty walking forward with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, a classic image of American coinage. The reverse displays a detailed depiction of a bald eagle, created by artist Jennie Norris, which replaced the original design by Miley Busiek used prior to 2021. Legible inscriptions on the coin include the country of issue, the face value, the weight, and the traditional mottos, including IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
