Backed by the Canadian government with a face value of fifteen dollars, this release is limited to a mintage of 18,888 pieces. The reverse side presents a stylized depiction of the horse, the traditional Chinese zodiac animal for 2026. This specific design draws creative inspiration from Chinese folk art. Because fire is the dominant element for the year, the horse's tail, mane, and body are rendered with elaborate patterns that represent this element. Accompanying the central figure are sunflowers and jasmine, which is recognized as the lucky flower for those born under this sign. On the obverse, the coin displays the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, a depiction created by artist Steven Rosati.
