2026 Republic of Cameroon 2 oz Silver Kintsugi Art: Nefertiti

2.0000 troy oz .999 2026 Uncirculated

This striking silver coin represents the second release in the innovative Kintsugi Art series, blending the iconic imagery of ancient Egypt with the traditional Japanese philosophy of embracing flaws. Struck in two ounces of 0.999 fine silver, the coin pays tribute to Queen Nefertiti through a visual style inspired by Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with precious gold lacquer. With a highly limited mintage of just 299 pieces, this issue stands as a remarkable fusion of diverse cultural aesthetics. The reverse of the coin presents a deeply detailed portrait of Nefertiti, where selective gilding forms golden lines that trace her famous profile, mimicking the repaired cracks of Kintsugi art. This golden imagery is set against a dark, contrasting background enhanced with ruthenium plating and intricate traditional patterns. Her name, NEFERTITI, is inscribed alongside the artwork, emphasizing her enduring legacy. On the obverse, the queen's portrait is rendered in an elegant outline, also decorated with selective gilding and traditional motifs. This side displays the essential issuing details, including the year 2026, the face value of 2000 FRANCS CFA, the weight of 2 oz, and the metal fineness of Ag 999, alongside the issuing nation, REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. Combining a high-relief strike with an antique finish, ruthenium plating, and selective gilding, this sovereign coin is fully backed by the government of the Republic of Cameroon.
