2026 Rwanda 1 oz Silver Nautical Ounce 100 Yrs Kruzenshtern Proof
2026 Rwanda 1 oz Silver Nautical Ounce 100 Yrs Kruzenshtern Proof
This striking silver piece marks a decade of the Nautical Ounce series, standing as the tenth design in the collection. Struck in one ounce of fine silver, the coin celebrates the one hundredth anniversary of a legendary vessel. Originally constructed under the name Padua, it was the final cargo-carrying sailing ship produced by the F. Laeisz shipping line. In the late 1930s, specifically from 1938 to 1939, this remarkable vessel secured a world record as the speediest square-rigged sailing ship on the water. It received its current name, Kruzenshtern, in 1946. The front of the coin captures the majestic vessel under full sail, set against a background featuring a stylized compass. Legible inscriptions on this side include the ship's name, the year 2026, the metal purity, and various navigational instruments. On the other side, the official seal of Rwanda is prominently displayed alongside the face value of 50 Francs. Minted in proof condition, this release is limited to a mintage of just 1,000 pieces.
