This modern 25 Francs coin from Burundi represents a striking fusion of precious metal and natural gemstone. Struck by the MDM Mint, the piece contains two troy ounces of 0.999 pure silver, serving as a legal tender issue backed by the Burundi government. Its production was strictly limited to a mintage of just 1,888 pieces. The reverse of the coin showcases a central insert of genuine jade stone, intricately carved with the profile of a goat. Surrounding this green centerpiece is a detailed silver woodland scene inhabited by another goat. Adding a touch of contrast, a small privy mark depicting a goat is highlighted with 24k gold plating. The inscription identifying the release year, 2027, is positioned at the top of the design. On the obverse, the national coat of arms for the Republic of Burundi is displayed prominently. The design includes the national motto of unity, work, and progress, alongside the official face value of 25 Francs and the metal purity markings.
