The front of the bar displays the Schöne brand mark, the purity designation, and an individual serial number, while the back is left completely blank. Tracing its roots back to 1739, Schöne Edelmetaal stands as one of the earliest established precious metal processing firms. Over its long history, which eventually saw the company become part of Umicore, the firm's bar designs evolved. Older bar variants featured the staff of Hermes, whereas subsequent releases depicted a dove carrying an olive branch.
