Arabia Felix. Himyarites AR Drachm (c.1st Century AD) MS NGC
Dating back to approximately the first century AD, this silver drachm originates from the ancient region known as Arabia Felix. Minted by the Himyarite culture, a society with possible Sabaean origins, the small silver coin represents a fascinating chapter in the monetary history of the southern Arabian Peninsula. One side of the coin features a profile of a head facing toward the right. The opposite side displays a complex arrangement of smaller heads and various symbolic markings, which can exhibit stylistic variations from piece to piece. Weighing approximately 0.0900 troy ounces, this ancient silver specimen has survived the centuries in an exceptional state of preservation, officially graded as Mint State.
