Among the most recognizable treasures of antiquity, this silver tetradrachm from Athens represents the height of classical Greek coinage. Minted between 455 and 440 BC, the heavy silver piece weighs 16.96 grams and contains 0.4300 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse side of the coin features a detailed profile of Athena, the patron goddess of the city, looking to the right.
