Dating from the ancient era between 105 and 90 BC, this silver tetradrachm originates from the historic Bactrian Kingdom. The coin represents the coinage of the ruler Hermaios Soter, offering a tangible connection to the leadership of this ancient region. The obverse of the coin displays a right-facing bust of the ruler, adorned with a diadem and draped in fabric. On the reverse, the imagery shifts to the divine, depicting the god Zeus seated upon a throne. Facing to the left, Zeus extends one hand while holding a scepter securely in his left hand.
