Dating back to the period of 280 to 240 BC, this ancient silver didrachm originates from the historic region of Calabria, specifically the city of Taras in what is now modern Italy. The coin represents a fascinating window into classical Mediterranean artistry, struck in silver with a weight of approximately 0.3000 troy ounces. The obverse of the coin features a dynamic scene of a nude youth riding a horse toward the left. The young rider is depicted crowning his steed with a laurel wreath, capturing a moment of victory or celebration.
