During the late Iron Age, between 60 BC and 20 BC, the Durotriges tribe inhabited the southwestern region of Britain. This era was marked by significant conflict and upheaval across the British islands, including Roman military campaigns under Julius Caesar in the southeastern areas. Amidst this turbulent climate, the Durotriges produced their own distinct coinage, including this silver stater containing approximately 0.0980 troy ounces of precious metal.
