Crusader States Antioch AR Denir Bohemond III 1163-1201 AD VF NGC
This medieval silver denier originates from the Principality of Antioch, minted during the era of Bohemond III, which spanned from 1163 to 1201. As a tangible artifact from the Crusader States, the coin offers a direct visual connection to the military and cultural landscape of the Latin East during the twelfth century. The obverse of the coin displays the profile of a Frankish knight facing left, wearing a protective mail coif. On the reverse, the design features a classic short Maltese cross. This side also contains Latin inscriptions alongside a moneyer signature, reflecting the administrative and monetary systems of the Crusader era. Each of these silver pieces has been preserved and certified by independent grading experts as being in Very Fine condition, allowing modern observers to appreciate the distinct details of the medieval engraving.
