Dating from the third to the first century BC, this silver drachm originates from the ancient Illyrian Greek city of Dyrrhachium, a key hub in Greek economic history. The obverse of the coin displays a striking scene of a cow standing and looking backward at her nursing calf, accompanied by an eagle with its wings spread wide.
