This ancient silver tetradrachm, minted around 58 BC under the Indo-Scythian ruler Azes, represents a remarkable bridge between diverse ancient cultures. It stands as one of the earliest examples of bilingual coinage ever produced, showcasing the integration of distinct regional traditions. The inscriptions on the coin utilize both Greek lettering and Kharosthi script, a writing system native to the ancient region of Gandhara.
