Dating back to the twelfth century, this silver denar originates from the medieval Kingdom of Hungary under the rule of Stephen II, who reigned from 1116 to 1131. Despite its immense age, this specimen survives in an exceptional state of preservation, certified in Mint State 62 condition. The coin showcases the minimalist yet striking artistic style of the high medieval period. On the obverse, a large, bold cross dominates the central field. The reverse features a more intricate geometric layout, displaying a central cross accented by four distinct wedges nestled within an inner circular border, all enclosed by a secondary outer ring.
