Dating back to the fifth and fourth centuries BC, this silver tetrobol originates from the ancient Macedonian colony of Acanthus. The coin stands as a tangible survivor from the classical era, carrying the distinct artistic style of the northern Aegean region. The obverse side of the coin features the detailed front portion of a bull facing toward the right. On the reverse, the design showcases a traditional quadripartite incuse square, a characteristic geometric pattern of early Greek minting.
