This ancient silver drachm originates from the historic region of Macedon, minted during the era of 336 to 323 BC. Despite being produced after the ruler's lifetime, the coin honors Alexander III, widely known as Alexander the Great. It contains approximately 0.1369 troy ounces of silver, carrying the physical weight of ancient commerce into the modern era. The obverse side of the coin features a striking profile of the mythological hero Heracles. Facing right, he is depicted wearing his signature headpiece fashioned from the skin of the Nemean lion. This powerful image was a dominant symbol of strength and divine lineage in the ancient Greek world. On the reverse, the supreme deity Zeus is shown seated and facing left. In his hands, he holds a ceremonial scepter and a perched eagle, representing his supreme authority. To the right of the seated god, the inscription ALEXANDROY is clearly visible, marking the legacy of the Macedonian king.
