0.1369 troy oz 336-323 BC Very Good (NGC)

This ancient silver drachm represents a posthumous issue from the era of Macedon, connected to the legacy of Ruler Alexander III, commonly known as Alexander the Great. Struck from silver with a metal weight of approximately 0.1369 troy ounces, the coin has survived the centuries and is certified in Very Good condition. The obverse of the coin displays a detailed right-facing bust of the legendary hero Heracles, who is depicted wearing his iconic lion skin headpiece. This powerful imagery was a staple of Macedonian coinage, projecting strength and divine ancestry. On the reverse, the supreme deity Zeus is shown seated and facing left. In his hands, he holds a scepter and an eagle, symbols of his ultimate authority. To the right of the seated god, the Greek inscription ALEXANDROY is clearly visible, marking the enduring authority of Alexander's name even after his reign.
