The Mexican Libertad series is celebrated for its stunning artistry and deep connection to national identity. Struck at the historic Casa de Moneda de México, the oldest minting institution in the Americas, this fractional gold coin showcases two of the country's most enduring symbols. The reverse features the Winged Victory, also known as the Angel of Independence, standing proudly against a backdrop that depicts the legendary Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes. On the obverse, the coin displays the National Coat of Arms of Mexico, surrounded by the inscription "Estados Unidos Mexicanos". Depending on the year of issue, these pieces carry slight variations in their metal purity.
