Dating back to the fourth and third centuries BC, this silver stater originates from the ancient city of Aspendos, located in the historical region of Pamphylia within modern Turkey. The coin weighs 10.40 grams and measures 23 millimeters in diameter, representing a fascinating era of classical Mediterranean coinage. The obverse of this silver piece captures a moment of intense athletic competition, depicting two wrestlers locked in combat as they grasp each other by the arms.
