During the height of the Roman Empire, silver denarii circulated as the backbone of daily commerce. This particular silver coin, minted between 147 and 176 AD, showcases the portrait of Faustina Junior, a prominent figure of the imperial household. Her draped bust on the obverse side offers a direct connection to the leadership of the ancient Roman world. Struck in ancient silver, the coin has a physical presence that has survived for nearly two millennia. It measures approximately 18 mm in diameter and weighs between 2.9 and 3.1 grams. The reverse of these issues typically features various designs, often depicting Roman deities, personified virtues, or traditional belief systems of the era. This specimen has been certified as being in Very Fine condition.
