It represents a fascinating era of classical coinage, weighing approximately 0.12 troy ounces of silver. The coin has survived the centuries in Very Fine condition, allowing modern observers to appreciate the artistry of the ancient world. The obverse of the coin features the powerful profile of Mars, the god of war, facing right and wearing a detailed helmet. This martial imagery reflects the turbulent and competitive spirit of the Roman Republic during the first century BC. On the reverse, the goddess Victory is depicted driving a biga, a traditional two-horse chariot, as she speeds toward the right. She holds the reins in one hand and raises a wreath in the other, symbolizing triumph. Below this dynamic scene, the Latin inscription reads CN. LENTVS., identifying the moneyer Cn. Cornelius Lentulus Clodianus, who oversaw the production of this issue.
