Vietnamese Empire AE Cash Le Dynasty (1428-1789 AD) Avg. Circ
This copper cash coin originates from the Vietnamese Empire, specifically minted during the mid-fifteenth century between 1443 and 1459 AD. Associated with the historic Le Dynasty, which spanned from the early fifteenth century to the late eighteenth century, this piece represents the coinage of the kingdom of Lan Xang and Ancient Vietnam. The obverse of this bronze coin displays imperial characters arranged around a distinctive central hole, a classic feature of East Asian cash coinage. In contrast, the reverse side is completely plain, surrounding the same central square opening. Having survived in average circulated condition, the coin offers a tangible connection to the early administrative and economic history of the region.
