Vietnamese Empire AE Cash Le Thong Duc (1510-1516 AD) Avg Circ
This copper cash coin originates from the Vietnamese Empire during a period of historical transition. Minted between 1510 and 1516, the piece represents a time when ancient Vietnam was re-establishing its own identity following a period of Chinese occupation. The obverse of the coin features imperial characters arranged around a central square hole, a classic design element of East Asian currency from this era. These characters associate the issue with the historical figure Le Thong Duc. In contrast to the inscribed front, the reverse side of the coin is completely plain, surrounding the same central square opening. Having survived in average circulated condition, this bronze-alloy coin offers a direct connection to the early sixteenth-century administration of Vietnam.
