$10 Liberty Gold Eagle BU (Random Year)

0.4838 troy oz .900 Brilliant Unc

The ten dollar gold piece, struck by United States mints between the years 1838 and 1907, represents a classic era of American coinage. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, this substantial coin contains 0.4838 troy ounces of gold, minted in a 0.900 fine composition. These pieces were produced at various national minting facilities, including Philadelphia, Carson City, Denver, New Orleans, and San Francisco. On the obverse side, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is crowned with a hair band inscribed with her name. A ring of thirteen stars encircles her profile, representing the original colonies. The reverse side showcases a proud heraldic eagle bearing a shield across its chest. The bird is framed by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the face value, TEN D. In 1866, the reverse design was updated to incorporate the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, positioned above the eagle.
