1798 Draped Bust Dollar Heraldic Eagle VF-30 PCGS

In the final years of the eighteenth century, the young United States mint in Philadelphia produced this silver dollar. Dated 1798, the coin represents an era of transition and experimentation in early American coinage, carrying a modest mintage of 287,536 pieces. Because the Philadelphia Mint did not use mint marks at this time, the coin's origin is understood by the absence of any such mark. This specimen has been certified in Very Fine 30 (VF-30) condition, preserving the distinct features of its historic imagery. The obverse showcases the Draped Bust portrait of Liberty, accompanied by the year 1798. On the reverse, the Heraldic Eagle design appears alongside the traditional national motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM. Struck in 0.8924 fine silver, the coin contains 0.7738 troy ounces of precious metal, standing as a substantial physical artifact from the first decade of the United States Mint.
