Minted in the final year of the eighteenth century, this silver dollar represents a foundational era of United States coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint without a mint mark, the coin is composed of 0.8924 fine silver, containing 0.7738 troy ounces of precious metal. A total of 423,515 of these dollars were produced in 1799, making them a significant artifact from the nation's early years. The obverse features a profile of Lady Liberty, her hair draped in the style of the era, encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. On the reverse, a detailed heraldic eagle clutching an olive branch and thirteen arrows is displayed, alongside the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the surrounding inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
