In the early years of the United States Mint, copper was the foundation of everyday commerce. This 1805 Large Cent, preserved in Almost Good condition, represents a fascinating era of early American coining. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin has traveled through countless hands, leaving a worn surface that tells a story of survival spanning more than two centuries. The obverse of this historic copper coin features the elegant Draped Bust design by Robert Scot.
