1833 Large Cent Fine
In 1833, the United States Mint produced a copper one cent coin that showcases a distinct era of early American coining. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this piece belongs to the Classic Head series, a design created by John Reich. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a band inscribed with the word LIBERTY, surrounded by stars with the year 1833 positioned at the bottom. The reverse of this copper cent is framed by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA along the outer edge. Inside this circular inscription, a delicate wreath wraps around the central denomination, which reads ONE CENT. This particular specimen is preserved in Fine condition, offering a clear view of the artistry and craftsmanship that defined early nineteenth-century American currency.
