The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty, her hair bound by a band inscribed with the word LIBERTY, though only a portion of the word appears in the worn, historic lettering of this specific piece. On the reverse, a delicate wreath encircles the denomination, spelled out as HALF CENT. Surrounding this central motif is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
