Introduced in the late 1830s, the Liberty Seated Dime represents a major era in United States coinage. This particular silver coin, minted in 1838, showcases the artistry of Christian Gobrecht. It contains 0.0715 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, serving as a tangible connection to the pre-1933 era of American currency. The obverse design features Lady Liberty seated upon a rock, holding a staff topped with a liberty cap in one hand while supporting a shield with the other.
